Managing Anxiety Workshop
Does your child worry and become anxious?
Often when children become anxious its hard to know what to do for the best. Do we ignore it, reassure them or hope its a phase they will grow out of?
Come along and sit in on our Managing Anxiety online workshop
What happens at a Managing Anxiety workshop?
Our workshops are evidence based, safe, understandable and fun. Come along and join our Clinical Director as she explains :
Our two cartoon elves and how they help us understand our physical and mental health. (there is a spotting exercise to do throughout the session- how many elves can you spot? )
What anxiety is- what causes it and what does it feel like
What can help- practical ideas and interventions you can take away and use
How to use our 3 step plan to manage anxiety effectively.
The live workshop is for both parents and children to come along to together and is mainly us sharing information with you. We ask you to talk to only the people at your home, who you logged in with, and occasionally pop something in the chat. But we don’t need you to talk in the group.
There is a lot of information within the workshop, so we do recommend parents purchase a Managing Anxiety resource pack from our shop to support the learning. It contains all the interventions and tools we discuss.
If you can its best if you can have your camera on, its much nicer than talking to screens.
There is an opportunity to ask our Clinical director questions at the end.
NEW:
If the live workshop is on a day or time that won’t work for your family, you can now purchase the video of the workshop to work through together in your own time.
What have others said about this workshop?
We do ask parents to complete a short evaluation form at the end of the workshop. From this we are able to see how effective our workshops are and what needs more information or changing.
We have now been running the Anxiety workshop for 5 years, it is one of our most popular workshops.
Workshop Evaluations Completed After Attending
Please purchase ONE family ticket to join the live session, irrespective of how many are present.
If this fee is inhibitory to you being able to attend, and you feel this workshop would benefit your family, we do have a number of FREE places, for families, on each of our workshops. Please email info@standinginthegap.uk stating which workshop and date you would like to be considered for.
If you are in the fortunate position where you are able, you can pay this forward and purchase additional family tickets which can then be used to offer free places to more vulnerable families.
